About the Library

The Library of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (GDUFE library) was founded in 1983. Since the development in the past 30 years, a resource system of economics, management & law has been established, along with rich content and rational structure.

The GDUFE Library system currently consists of two campus libraries, including the Guangzhou Campus Library (2015, 33,000 square meters) and the Foshan Campus Library (2009, 21,000 square meters). The total construction area is over 54,000 square meters. It operates over 105 hours a week. It provides full-time network service.

The library is formed by Administrative Office, Collection Development Department, Circulation and Reading Department, Digital Library Department, Subject Service Department, Learning Center and Integrated Service Department.

The library enjoys abundant resources in diversified categories. Up until June 2015, the collection of the library had over 2,550,000 printed books, 1,500 kinds of newspapers and journals. In recent years, the library has been attaching great importance to the development of electronic resources. It now has a collection of over 1,950,000 kinds of e-books, 41 Chinese databases, 17 databases in foreign languages and 17 self-built databases.

Under the guide of a reader-oriented service concept, the GDUFE Library offers a flexible and open-minded service, including circulation, reference, retrieval, interlibrary loan, reader training, seminar space and so on. Besides, the library is committed to delivering support for students’ self-study and faculty research.

The library has rich self-built resources, including Commercial Guangzhou, Innovative Platform for Public Finance Research and so on. Being one of the eight digital education resources centers in Guangdong Province, Economics, Management & Law Digital Education Resources Center is installed in the GDUFElibrary.
