School of Information Science

     At the School of Information Science , we help students achieve their educational pursuits by offering a full range of the finest academic undergraduate programs such as Information Management and Information Systems(BBA), Computer Science and Technology(BS), E-Commerce(BBA), and Software Engineering(BS), in which Information Management and Information System has been reputed as Guangdong Provincial Famous Brand Program in 2004 and E-Commerce has been reputed as Guangdong Provincial Featured Program in 2009.The school now has 14 administrative staff and 76 full-time teachers, in which 16 are professors, 32 are associate professors, 60 are PhDs, and 12 are reputed as Candidates of  Guangdong Thousand- Hundred-Ten Talents Culitivation Program. The School of Information  Science  also offers postgraduate programs in Management Science and Engineering. Current students are 1,700. 3708 students have graduated. We have signed the agreement of  3 + 2 cooperation project  in running schools  with Pace University. According to the agreement, undergraduate students will have an opportunity to get a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree through a five-year comprehensive program . We also signed the agreement of 2 + 2  cooperation project in running Computer Science and Technology Innovation Experimental Class with Pace University  so that students will be  trained to get double Bachelor's degrees by joint efforts . Putting an emphasis on responsibility, unity, development, quality, and brand, we strive to make the school a better one with higher quality, distinctive features, and better reputation in the domestic financial institutions. We adhere to the discipline development ideas of highlighting economics, management, and business features based on information technology. In recent years, faculty in our school have undertaken or completed more than 30 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation or some provincial departments, and published 5 monographs and more than 500 academic papers, of which over one hundred papers have been collected by SCI, EI, and ISTP.  Moreover,  the School owns more than 10 software copyrights. Focused on teaching, we constantly optimize the structure of teachers, improve school conditions, and greatly enhance the level and quality of program construction. The course E-Logistics has been awarded  the National Bilingual Demonstration Course. Provincial teaching achievement awards have been achieved for 3 times. Our students also actively participated in various competitions. They have won 17 national awards  and 54 provincial awards, including one Silver Award in the sixth Challenge Cup Business Plan Competition, one first prize in 2012 the International Mathematical Modeling Contest in 2012 . They also achieved some honors such as National Advanced Class issued by Central Committee of Chinese Youth League and the Ministry of Education in 2009.
