The School of Business Administration is developed from Business Administration Department that was established in 1982. There are 69 employees in the School, including 12 professors, 22 associate professors and 25 doctors, and 2246 students, which include 2206 undergraduates and 40 postgraduates. Now the School has four undergraduate programs including Business Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Logistics Management. It also provides two postgraduate programs, namely Business Management and Business Administration.
Great achievements have been made in program construction. Marketing Program won the title of “National Featured Program” and “Provincial Famous Brand Program”. Management program won the title of “Guangdong Featured Program” and “Provincial Key Construction Program”. The courses of Management, Marketing, Retailing and Logistics won the title of Provincial Top-Quality Courses. Moreover, the School established several teaching practice bases, such as, Guangzhou Wal-Mart Trust Mart Practice Base, Guangzhou Trust Mart Practice Base, Guangzhou Yihe Group Company Limited Teaching Practice Base and China Southern Talent Market Teaching Practice Base. All the above teaching practice bases were awarded “Provincial Off-campus Practice Demonstration Base”. Since 2010, the School has undertaken five national academic research projects and more than 40 provincial academic research projects. Nearly 300 papers have been published in top journals such as the management of the world, Management science, Management Review, Chinese Journal of Management Sciences, etc. The college also published 27 books, with one of them was qualified in the first “Twelfth Five-Year National Planned Textbook”.
The college attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality. Students have achieved outstanding winning records at all levels of national and provincial competitions in all types of fields including science and technology works, business plan, logistics design, literary sports, and so on.
According to related surveys, graduates from the School of Business Administration have high comprehensive quality, strong capability, and hard-working spirit, which are generally recognized by employers. A number of alumni are now well-known entrepreneurs and top managers. The School has set up “Treasure for Logistics Scholarship” and “North Huang Grants” to provide funding for the students that are excellent but in poor families.
