International Economics and Trade (IET)
Established in 1989, the specialty of International Economics and Trade is one of the earliest majors in Guangdong University of Finance & Economics, and one of the first batch ofpilot programs of “National First-Class Undergraduate Majors” in China.
Cultivation Objectives: Students are to have comprehensive moral, intellectual and physical development. They can systematically master modern economics, basic theories and methods of international trade; proficiently master WTO international trade rules, world economic and cultural backgrounds, as well as policies and regulations; they are skillful in using computers for data analysis, management and operations; and they have good command of English listening and speaking skills, reading and writing abilities and professional application, trained as comprehensively capable, export and application-oriented talents.
Training Specifications: Management and teaching based on credits, four-year undergraduate education, awarded Bachelor's degree in Economics.
Main discipline: Economics.
Students' employment situation: In 2017, the employment rate was 100 percent; 2018 - 100 percent; 2019-100 percent.
Direction of further studies: To engage in Master degrees of economics, management science and other related subjects in domestic and foreign institutions of higher learning.
Direction of students' employment: Graduates can work in government departments, multinational corporations, foreign trade companies, various financial institutions and industrial and commercial enterprises with engagement in foreign trade, foreign investment management and other specific operations.
