School of Accounting 

I. School introduction:

School of Accounting is one of the oldest academic units founded in the Guangdong University of Finance & Economics. Accounting Teaching & Research Office was founded in 1983;  the Department of Accounting was established in 1985 and it changed its name to School of Accounting in1999.

At present the School of Accounting has  the following undergraduate programs: Accounting, Financial Management and Auditing. Meanwhile the School possesses Innovative Experimental Cultivation Zone for ACCA talents as well as Guangdong “Cooperative Education Platform of International Applied Accounting Talents” and it can enroll students to its ACCA experimental class. Accounting is the national-level characteristic major and a Guangdong famous brand major; Financial Management is the Guangdong demonstrative major for applied talent cultivation; and Auditing is the Guangdong experimental major of comprehensive reform. While Innovative Experimental Cultivation Zone for ACCA talents is the key constructive experimental zone of Guangdong higher education quality project and “Cooperative Education Platform of International Applied Accounting Talents” is the unique cooperative education platform of  Accounting programs  in Guangdong. 

The first-level Business Administration, to which the Accounting  belongs, is a provincial-level key and dominant discipline. It has the qualification of awarding the  Master Degree of Accountancy, Master Degree of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) and Master Degree of Business Administration (MBA, Finance and Accounting). 

School of Accounting possesses a teachers’ team with impressive title-degree structure and strong teaching and researching abilities. At present there are 63 faculty members, including 51 professional teachers. The team includes 14 professors, 25 associate professors and 12 lecturers; 28 doctor degree holders, one Pearl River Scholar, two national accounting leading talents (backup) , two Nanyue excellent teachers and one Nanyue young excellent teacher. 3 provincial-level targets and 11 school-level targets have been selected for “Thousand-Hundred-Ten Talents Cultivation Program”. Several teachers have visited famous domestic and foreign universities in America, Taiwan, etc. as senior visiting scholars successively.
