2. A brief introduction of the course

Introduction to psychology is a science studying the common laws lied behind people’s psychological phenomenon in general. It outlines the essential general principles of psychological phenomenon known to human, bringing together psychological research findings of various psychology branches and schools. Introduction to psychology is thus a most basic and common as well as the most important fundamental subject in the psychological science. It is not only a rudiment to get psychology knowledge, but also the fundamental theories of  many applied psychology branches. The teaching goal of introduction to psychology is to teach students the “general” and “basic” knowledge, to let the student have the knowledge of the basic phenomenon, basic concept and basic theory of the psychology, mastering basic psychological research methods and having an understanding of the general psychological development trend.
