2. Brief Course Introduction: 

Academic Paper Writing is one of the professional required courses for Chinese Language and Literature majors and International Chinese Education majors. This course aims to, after students’ learning, make students primarily grasp the features and functions of academic papers, as well as contents such as topic selection, argumentation, format and writing criteria, improving their abilities of writing academic papers, and lays a solid foundation for their thesis writing in the future. The nature of academic papers is innovation. The teaching of Academic Paper Writing should make it a fundamental starting point, elaborate on problems such as selecting topics, proposing statements, choosing materials and argumentation methods, combine lecture with discussion, integrate theoretical explanation with example analysis, ill-written parts analysis and writing practice, and on the basis of students’ full understanding of the requirements and rules of paper writing, make students able to write academic papers which have innovative topic and sufficient statements, combines theory with practice, and conform to the writing criteria.
