1. Developmental Goal

The nature of this major is based on the concept and characteristic of integrating multi-disciplinary subjects. It aims to nurture practitioners with the understanding of the development and future trends of domestic and international film and television industry, as well as interactive media. It also focuses on the mastery of the knowledge, skills and specific application of digital technology within the area of film, television and multimedia art. Additionally, it enhances the familiarity of Internet communication, e-commerce management, product development process, cutting-edge technologies such as digital video special effects technology, online interactive design and production, and mobile network communication. Graduates are expected to work in multiple fields, especially in the mobile Internet-related industry requiring innovative expertise of the creating and managing of stream video content.

2. Graduate Requirements

Students of this school mainly focus on the study of the foundational knowledge of digital art theories and practices, such as the ability of planning, developing and content-creating mobile Internet product. Students are required to equip skills of creating computer graphic with special effects, motion graphics and online media content. In particular, the quality of students’ interactive media productions are expected to meet both artistic and market criteria. In detail, graduates should acquire knowledge and abilities in the following areas:

 

(1) Mastering the basic theories and knowledge of digital art, and to be familiar with the current trends relating to digital art. It is also important to understand the history of digital art at home and abroad, and to have a certain degree of comprehension of associating social sciences, humanities and natural sciences;

(2) To be proficient in Internet product planning, development and content-creating in digital film and television program, special effects creation and other relative practical skills. It is also crucial to be both capable of undertaking specific division of work, and coordinating tasks between different sections in the mobile Internet product/ digital film and television industry. In addition, one is expected to have strong innovation capabilities in creative industry;

(3) To be proficient in marketing and related economics knowledge, in particular those dealing with Internet product operation, resource organization, project management, and film and television industry management;

(4) Possessing comprehensive understanding of Internet product, digital film and television program development, marketing, creative thinking, innovative practice and scientific research capabilities, and the explorative mind towards new art;

(5) Having physical and psychological health, moral integrity, innovative thinking ability, communication skill, and sound teamwork spirit.
