MA used to be an actress and director of Guangdong Provincial Theatre, and her current research interests lie in drama (film and television) performance, musical performance, and etiquette & image guidance.

She has been engaged in acting and directing in film, drama and opera for 36 years. She has appeared in about nearly 100 films, including Out-Of Town Wives and Native Husbands, The Vigilantes in Mask, Policeman in Pearl River Delta, The Thirteen-hong Merchants, Four seasons as a Song, The End of the Blue Sky, Fighting the Epidemic 2020, and so on. In addition, she also won “the Excellent ‘Little Hundred Flowers’ Award”， “Best Performance Award of China, Japan and South Korea International Drama Performance”, “Five One Project of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee”， “Guangdong Arts Festival Performance Awards ”.
