Ye Tian
After getting his M.A. from Sichuan International Studies University in 1999, Ye Tian has been teaching in the School of Foreign Studies (in which he used to be the director of the Translation Department) and International Business School, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics. Between August 2009 and February 2010 he pursued his research at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke as a visiting scholar.
The courses he offers include Management (English), Business Culture and Strategy (English), Creating a Culture of Customer Care (English), Translation for Business (Bilingual), Lexicology (English), E-C Translation (Bilingual), C-E translation (Bilingual), A Practical Course for Translation Technology (Bilingual), Contrastive Study of Translated Texts (Bilingual), and Chinese Culture (English).
The papers he published include “Yan Fu’s Choice: On Intervention of Target Culture in Translation”, “On Translation of the Color Words in A Dream of Red Mansions”, “Enlightenment of Linguistics Research to the Methods of Literature Research”, etc.; he also co-authored such books as A Translation Course Book for College Students, English 5 for Continuous Education, A Coursebook for Translation Technology etc. Tian presided over the university-level research project “Network-based E-C Translation Model Course”, “Characteristic Specialty (Translation) Construction Program”, and participated in the Eleventh Five-year Plan philosophy and social science research program of Guangdong province “A Literary Criticism of Linguistics”,The National Social Science Fund of China program “A Study of the Literature life Based on the Media Convergence”.
