Hu Guiwu

Professor  Hu Guiwuis the dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics in Guangdong University of Finance and Economics. He received his Ph.D. degree in engineering from South China University of Technology. He is an expert in major administrative decision-making in Guangzhou. He is the deputy director of the academic committee in school, and is the member of the teaching guidance committee and the member of the academic review committee as well. He is the executive director of the association of computational mathematics and the association of industrial and applied mathematics in Guangdong province. In recent years, he has dedicated himself to research in statistical computing, Big Data, intelligent computing, data mining and related research areas. He has presided over and participated in many National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Foundation of China and Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. He has published more than 30 academic papers in several important journals, where more than 10 papers were included in the three major indexes. He won the Science and Technology Progress Award in Guangdong province. He engaged in undergraduate teaching and reform for a long time, has earned abundant related experience, the ability of management and innovation consciousness. He presided over the intercollegiate teaching achievements competition and then won the first prize. He gained 6 national innovation entrepreneurship research projects. Moreover, he got many other awards as well. He guided students to win 30 prizes in both international and domestic mathematical modeling competitions. At present, he has four provincial teaching projects and 10 field teaching research projects.
