Cai Jia is an associate professor at School of Mathematics and Statistics. He got his Ph.D. from Department of Mathematics at City University of Hong Kong in 2009. His supervisor was Chair Professor Ding-Xuan Zhou from City University of Hong Kong, who got the Humboldt Grant and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Dr. Jia Cai was appointed as a “Talented Young Professor” for four years in 2013.
His research interests including: statistics learning theory, pattern recognition and data mining. He has published several SCI papers in the following famous journals; Journal of Approximation Theory”, Science China Mathematics as wells as Applied Computational and Harmonic Analysis. He taught Advanced Calculus, Space Analytical Geometry, Calculus and Optimization Method. Currently, he has got several research grants, namely, National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Distinguished Young Talents in Higher Education of Guangdong Grant. He has participated in several research projects, including: The National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Natural Science Foundation, Science and Technology Innovation Project of Guangdong and Science and Technology Project of Guangdong.
