Tan Zhongxue is a lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, Guangzhou, China. He graduated from Hubei University for Nationalities in 1995, was awarded a Master’s degree and Doctor’s degree from South China Normal University in 2003 and 2006 respectively. He has worked for the School of Mathematics and Statistics , Guangdong University of Finance and Economics since 2006. He has taught the following lessons to undergraduates: Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Advanced Algebra, Space Analytic Geometry, Mathematics and Culture, the History of Mathematics, etc. In the process of teaching, he is good at combining the history of mathematics with the abstract concepts and theories, explaining profound theories in simple language, also with wit and verbal dexterity. His main research field is combinatorics, algebraic graph theory and spectral theory of graphs. He has published 12 research papers in domestic and international core Journals, 6 of them are included by SCI. He finished a monograph on spectral graph theory as second author. He has participated in 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China.
