Fang Danfan is a professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, Guangzhou, China. He got his Bachelor degree of Science in 1981. And then he received his Ph.D. in Science from Shanghai University. He has devoted himself to teaching and researching Mathematics over the past 40 years. In terms of teaching he mainly focused on courses such as Probability Theory, Statistics, Algebra, Calculus, and Mathematical Methodology. In the researching area, he has made some significant achievements as well, particularly in the area of Markov processes in random environments, he has published over 20 papers in important Academic Journals at home and abroad, such as ACTA Mathematicae Applicatae Sinica (Vol. 26, No. 4, 2003), Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (Vol. 24, No. 3, 298-306, 2003), Journal of Applied Probability (36, 611-619, 1999), Chinese Journal of Applied Probability and Statistics (Vol. 15, No. 4, 11, 345-350, 1999; Vol. 19, No. 1, 65-71, 2003; Vol. 16, No. 3, 295-298, 2000), among which, one paper has been cited by Engineering Index (EI) database and three have been cited by Science Citation Index (SCI) database. Besides, he has also presided over two provincial and school level scientific research projects and participated in one National Natural Science Foundation project (60572126), and presided over Hunan Province Natural Science Foundation project (04JJ3068).
