The course help students understand the basic content of Data Analysis and its business applications, learn how to process raw data, analyze practical problems quantitatively and interpret the results. It mainly helps students master statistical thinking and key steps of several typical data analysis methods, such as data descriptive analysis, linear regression analysis, variance analysis, principal component analysis, canonical correlation analysis, discriminant analysis and cluster analysis. Combined with some practical cases in business area, it trains the students to employ the above statistical methods, using the mainstream statistical software, to solve the practical requirement of data analysis within business area.
