Dening Chen, a native of Luoding City, Guangdong Province, graduated from College of Geography in South China Normal University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree. She obtained a Master’s Degree on science of Regional Economic Development, which is a discipline of human geography, in South China Normal University in 1996. And she gained a Doctor’s Degree on Science in 2006, for the Regional Development & Planning of human geography in East China Normal University.
1996-now: Has been engaged in both research and teaching of Regional Economic in the Modern Economic & Development Institute, and the Resources & Environment Academy, as well as the Geography & Tourism Academy of Guangdong University of Finance & Economics.
2004: Has been evaluated and employed as an associate professor.
2012: Has been to HKBU (Hong Kong Baptist University) as a visiting scholar at David C.Lam Institute for East-West Studies from August to December.
2013.01-2014.01: Has worked as a visiting scholar in geography department of Dartmouth College in US.
