2. Brief Course Introduction

Economic Geography is a discipline focusing on regional system of human economic activities. It is an important branch of human geography, including such content as the position of economic activity, the type and evolution of spatial combination, etc. Taking production as subject, human economic activities include the whole process of production, exchanging, distribution and consumption. A chain of flows of material, goods, population, and information makes human economic activity a system that links together farms, mines, factories, villages, urban and rural residential areas, transportation networks, commercial service facilities and financial centers, etc. These economic activities all take place in concrete regions. So Economic Geography studies the economic system and their developments in each country and region all over the world.
