His research focuses on translation studies, contrastive studies between Chinese and English language, dissemination of Chinese Classics, pragmatics and teaching English as a foreign language. He is the author of three books: Comparative Studies between Chinese and Western Translation Studies from Philosophical Perspective (2013), Pragmatic Approach to Translation Studies (2007), Multi-perspective on Pragmatics (2009), and he has more than thirty papers published in such journals as Chinese Translators Journal, Foreign Language Research, Foreign Language Education, Chinese Science and Technology Translators Journal, etc. He is in charge of three Guangdong provincial projects in terms of science and teaching research, of which one has been completed. He supervises several MA students in translation and interpreting studies every academic year.
