2.Brief Course Introduction
English Listening I is designed for English majors as a compulsory course in 1st semester of freshmen year. This course integrates activities for both listening and speaking skills training. According to tactics for Listening from the aspect of Phonetics (weak forms, link-ups and contractions), Major listening exercises (listening for gist, identifying specific information and drawing inferences) and Oral work (questions and answers), students are expected to improve their listening and speaking skills to some extent.
