2.Brief Course Introduction
An Survey of Chinese Culture is a compulsory course for the sophomore students of the Department of English Language in the third semester that aims to provide the general knowledge of Chinese culture in English. It focuses on Chinese mythology, food culture, architecture and gardening, arts, Chinese medicine and Chinese philosophy. On completion of this course, students will obtain the knowledge of Chinese culture in the form of English, and develop a sense of national pride, sensitivity to different cultures, thus cultivating a multi-cultural vision of the world.
