2. Brief Course Introduction
Comparison and Translation between Chinese and English is a compulsory course provided in the third semester for students majoring in translation. The course aims at comparing Chinese and English in terms of words, sentences, texts, culture and a linguistic mindset to deepen students understanding of both Chinese and English and master relevant translation strategies. It lays equal importance on both theory and practice, targeted at improving students' translation competence by encouraging them to put what they've learned into practice through abundant discussions and translation practice.
