2.Brief Course Introduction
As a compulsory course for English majors, Introduction to English Linguistics introduces the students to basic theories and important achievements in various fields of linguistics, including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, first language acquisition, and second language acquisition. This course is intended to raise the students’ awareness of different language features and help them look at language in a scientific way.
