This course enables students to know the basic principles and standards of translation such as faithfulness in content, expressiveness in language, and closeness to the style of the original work. Also students should learn some commonly-used methods of translation, such as corresponding sentence patterns, rearrangement of word order, conversion of parts of speech, proper addition or omission and necessary repetition.
