Stylistics and Translation is a compulsory course provided for the junior English majors in the fifth semester. This course discusses various styles including news, science and technology, advertising, business, tourist texts, legal texts and their translation practice. It aims at helping students acquire some knowledge of stylistics and translation as well as the relationship between style and translation, master features and characteristics of various styles and improve the capability in translating various styles. The focus of the course is on the study of the stylistic features of different varieties and their disparities and translation between Chinese and English.
