Ren Xuan, born in Sept. 1973, started teaching as a professional teacher of music at our University in July 1995. From 2014, she has worked as Deputy Head of the Basics Department of School of Art in charge of music and dance teaching.
In 1991, she studied in the Music Department (now School of Music), Henan University, as an undergraduate in a normal class, majoring in keyboard composition and graduating in 1995.
In the years 1997-1998, she took the main graduate courses at South China Normal University majoring in Chorus Conducting. In the years 2000-2002, she studied Opera Stage Performance under the tutelage of a famous vocal music professor Ai-ping Sun at Xinghai Conservatory of Music. In 2005, she learned to play Guqin under the tutelage of Guqin School Master of the Southern of the Five Ridges Dao-xiu Xie and joined the Guqin Research Association with the Southern of the Five Ridges.
During her time teaching at our university, she has successively offered 3 elective courses: Appreciation of Music, Chorus Training, and Appreciation of Drama & Chinese Opera, being responsible for the courses; and also offered a special course Appreciation of Music for the Experimental Class, School of Finance. In the years 1997-1998, she joined Guangdong Broadcasting Choir, as an assistant conductor, assisting tutor professor Zheng-song Zhou. She is invited from time to time by our university’s League Committee or Trade Union to lead the chorus. In 2003, a Choir Concert On the Wings of Songs was held and in same year she won an Excellent Instructor award for instructing the 1st prize performance of a vocal chorus in the 1st Art Exhibition of College & University Students. In 2004, she worked as an editor and producer for the popular piano music collection Piano’s New Silk Road. In 2003, her research paper On Balance Function of Music for Human & Social Development was published in Inner Mongolia Social Science Research (a core Journal).
