2.Brief Course Introduction

Physical Geography is one of the key specialized courses for soil and land resource management specialty. The content of the course consists of three parts. The first part, introduces the cosmic location of Earth and the connection between Earth and other celestial bodies, and the movement, structure and the matter constituting Earth. The second part, introduces concept, developmental processes, essential characters, types and distribution of every element (geology, geomorphology, hydrology, weather, pedology, biology etc) of physical geography, the correlation between elements and the impact on the environment of physical geography, and the   relations between elements and human activities. The third part, is a synthetic research of physical geography, it mainly introduces the rules of regional difference, estimates of land, developmental correspondence between the Earth and human activities. The students master the developmental processes, the essential character, the types and the distribution of every element of physical geography, the correlation between elements and the impact on environment, to understand fundamental theory of Physical Geography, to know the importance of developmental correspondence between Earth and human activities, to develop and use of physical resources and to protect the ecological environment.
