It is a general compulsory course intended for non-computer major undergraduate students in colleges and universities, which is the second level course in the process of the basic computer education in higher education. The course is designed in conformity with the Web standards and emphasizes the separation of form from content in the website. Based upon the web design software as technical platform, it systematically introduces the methods and techniques of website design and construction, and CSS Web Design. The main contents of the course include: basic knowledge of webpage, Dreamweaver, CSS selector, web pages' beautification using CSS, Box model, Box’s floating and positioning and so on. Through the study of this course, the students are aimed to master the skills of planning and constructing the websites and are taught to apply CSS to design and create Webpages.
