Tian Zhonghui received his Ph.D. in literature from Beijing Normal University. He is a professor of Chinese Language and Literature, M.A. supervisor of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, member of Chinese Language Teaching Advisory Board of Guangdong Province, council member of the 11th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC) Guangdong Committee, council member of Cultural and Historical Records Committee, Deputy Director of Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and Deputy Director of Academic Committee in Guangdong University of Finance and Economics.
His field research has been funded by the Ministry of Education and Philosophy and Social Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, and he was recipient of provincial awards for excellence in teaching.
Professor Tian’s main research interests include Analects and aesthetic behaviors. Currently he teaches MA and MBA curriculums on Comparative Aesthetics and Confucian Culture and Merchant Spirits in Canton.
As the founder of Huaizhi Academy, Qingguo Creative Writing Workshop and the Scholastic Study (a study where students in GDUFE regularly have academic salons on topics such as aesthetics, Chinese and Western literature), he has long been dedicated to the work in integrated reform of Chinese Language majors, the cultivation of students’ Chinese literacy as well as their capability of creative writing.
Professor Tian is recipient of a number of provincial awards such as Distinguished Teacher of Southern Guangdong and Advanced Individual for Teacher’s Ethics.
