Jia Yi, Deputy Dean of School of Humanities and Communication, is a postgraduate supervisor and professor of broadcast announcing and anchoring. Apart from his leadership role at the school, he also holds other permanent council member positions of Guangdong Youth Federation and Literature and Art Circle.
Professor Jia holds a B.A. in Broadcast Announcing & Anchoring from Communication University of China, a M.A. in Advertising from University of Leeds, and a Ph.D. in Journalism from Jinan University. His overseas educational experience enables him to have a global vision, expanding the scope of his field research.
As a professor with an international horizon, Jia Yi has long been engaged in teaching and research on broadcasting and anchoring. He has been principal investigator of three programs. His field research has been funded by National Social Science Foundation, authored over thirty research papers on and one monograph (A Research on the Influence of Host in TV Program,2013). His articles have been published on Chinese core journals such as Modern Communications, Contemporary Communications and Editorial Friend.
His recent publications are: Putonghua with the scientific voice: the training course (2015) and Host Impromptu Public Speaking Art (2013).
