The History of psychology is a compulsory course for college students majoring in Practical Psychology. The objective of this course is, to enable students to understand the emergence and development of psychology, to master the basic viewpoint of each psychological school, to figure out the feature and the developing trends of Psychology, as well as to widen student’s horizons and upgrade their theoretical level on psychology, to acquire the ability of analyzing, identifying, and judging. The main content of this curriculum includes: the historical origin of Western psychology, Wundt and the establishment of experimental psychology; the opposite of the Structural Psychology and Functional psychology; development of behaviorism ,Gestalt Psychology, Psychoanalysis and its development; Psychoanalysis development and Psychoanalysis; Piaget's school, Cognitive psychology; Humanistic Psychology; Psychological thought in China; Soviet Union’s psychological history and current situation.
