2. Basic Course Introduction
News Editing is a compulsory course for the majors of Journalism and Communication. It introduces mainly theories and skills of news editing for different media news, enabling students to be qualified for working in the news business.
Students are exposed to: news editing in a complex situation, intellectual equipment and capabilities structure for news editing, basic concepts of news editing, functions and means of news editing, news editing planning and organization, evaluation and selection of news manuscripts, news manuscript proof, news caption writing, picture editing, news manuscript disposition, layout editing, broadcasting news editing, and cyber news editing.
