This course is compulsory for the majors of both Journalism and Editing &Publishing. It introduces the knowledge of management and media management, enabling the students with a thinking ability of media operation, preparing versatile talents in  business and media operational skills aimed at working for the media industry. 
It exposes students to basic theories of media management, big issues concerning the  media industry, media market, media strategies, and media groups, market analyses and strategies, production and advertising, finance management, human resource management, public relations, planning of industrialization of media, establishment of media groups, modern operations of media, etc. It also introduces in theory and practice foreign and Chinese media groups as well as management theories.
