This course introduces comprehensively the origin, development, and researches on Communication. Based on history and the current situation of Communication, it introduces the basic theories and points of view of Communication from the perspective of Communicators, recipients, medium, information, semiotics, communicating process, communication category, communication environment, communication skills, communicating effect, and methods of research on Communication, and so on. It helps students to apply theories to practice, and to know the current condition of media through case analysis, observing the media, and social investigations. Upon completing this course, students are able to have a better analytical ability, understanding and critical thinking, to master necessary communication rules and skills, and to improve their planning skills. It also helps students to broaden and deepen their thinking.
