2. Course Description
News commentary is a compulsory course for students of journalism major. This course examines the basic skills, normal patterns, and writing skills of news commentary, among which emphasis will be placed on the writing skills. Case studies will be discussed to equip students with writing skills required for different areas of mass communication, such as writing for broadcast, print, television or new media commentary.
Students taking the course will acquire an understanding of the fundamental principles and methods of news commentary, as well as develop students' abilities in news commentary.
