Rural Sociology discusses the social development of Chinese rural areas since Ming and Qing Dynasty, ranging from forming and declining of patriarchy, offering sacrifice to the gods and its relations with villages, rural market system, rural power and culture system, socialist reform since the foundation of PRC and the change of relation between rural economy and cities. Those will in further guide the students to think over the actual social problems, for example, the relations among country, city and rural areas, migrant workers, urban village.
