2. Brief Course Introduction:
Applied Writing is a compulsory course oriented on professional ability for undergraduates in Guangdong University of Finance & Economics and also a general course of humanistic quality which lays emphasis on practice and training. This course blending practicability, instrumentality, and humanity together focuses on improving students’ abilities in applied writing. Official documents are the center of this course, and other routine and professional document writing commonly used in students’ future career will also be taken into account. The conventional textbook A Coursebook of Practical Writing is a planned textbook for this university and the experimental textbook A Training Coursebook: Practical Writing compiled by the Experimental Center of Humanities in Guangdong University of Finance & Economics. The teaching materials all emphasize on intensive teaching of theoretical knowledge. The model essays are new in content covering wide varieties, and the exercises offer various question types with strong practicality. This course has constructed the Internet Blackboard Courses, which allows students to practice on the Internet, watch the results, discuss online, obtain abundant materials after class, and realize online study and online writing.
