2. Brief Course Introduction: 

    Genre-based Writing is one of the requisite courses for each Chinese specialty. It aims to introduce stylistic theories of various literary genres, help students to grasp the writing methods of different literary genres by writing practice, and make them do better in the literary related work in the future. The main content of this course includes: introduction to the characteristics of prose, the example of characteristics of prose writing, the appreciation, discussion, imitation of classic essays, the practice, discussion, modification and finalizing of prose writing in the form of writing workshop; the introduction to the characteristics of novel, the comparative study of novel stories and play stories, the adaptation of stories to plays; the introduction of the characteristics of poetry, the comparative study of lyric poem and lyric prose, the appreciation and discussion of classic poems, the completion of a poem in the writing workshop, and the significance and prospect of genre-based writing.
