2. Brief Course Introduction

     Introduction to Aesthetics is one of the specialized courses for Chinese Language and Literature majors. This course requires some basic knowledge about literature and art then students can carry on the theoretical learning of this course later. Through the study of this course, students should primarily understand and systematically grasp the basic viewpoints and knowledge of aesthetics as well as some major propositions, concepts and categories of aesthetic theories. Besides, students should learn to apply Marxist standpoint, viewpoint and method, have some ability to analyze artistic works, get improved in terms of comprehensive humanistic quality, and have the ability to properly analyze various artistic phenomenon’s. It will primarily lay a theoretical foundation for students to learn other literary courses, and carry on literary practices as well as occupations of language teaching and cultural education.
