This course is a preliminary course for editing and publishing majors. It mainly talks about regular patterns, principles and operative methods of editing work, which includes relevant knowledge and techniques of macro-editing and micro-editing. Students can master basic theory of editing work and its basic process and operative rule. Specifically, students should firstly be familiar with the basic concepts of editing and then form a whole structure of their knowledge around. What’s more students should understand its general process of production and development and master the systematic theory of editing. After doing that, students are expected to put what they have learned in this course into practice and then form a learning habit of combining theory with practice. And teaching content of it can be divided into 7 parts: summary of editing theory, editing activity, editing staff, editing process (3parts) and editing thought.
