    2. Course Introduction

Broadly, all statistical research process can be considered data processing. In the narrow sense, data processing mainly refers to the process of data preprocessing before data analysis. Data processing on the one hand improves the quality of data, on the other hand allows data to better suit a particular statistical analysis methods or techniques. For example, you may need to convert continuous variables into discrete variables, in order to take advantage of specific technologies; again, you may need to unifying variables, standardized for multivariate statistical analysis or comprehensive evaluation. This course mainly introduces the basic techniques and software operation of data processing, so that students understand the basic theories and methods of data processing, and can use the R software for data processing and practice basic statistical analysis.
