2. Course Introduction
“Introduction to World Economy” is a required course for undergraduates who major in Economics, International Economics and Trade, and International Business in institutions of higher education in China. The course not only provides a solid theoretical basis for students to learn courses such as International Trade, International Finance and International Investment etc, but also helps students to develop a deep understanding on world economy and different countries economic operation. The course mainly discusses economic globalization, economic growth and development, researches productivity, production relations and optimization of production factors in a worldwide range. It explains systematically the world economic development, current situation and future trend, discloses the contradictions and laws in the world economy, and provides basic theory, knowledge and material for students to study further on world economic issues.
