Labor economics is an independent economic discipline which is based on the economic development. Modern labor economics is a science that studies the phenomenon of labor market and its operation law, which is derived from the scarcity of labor resources and the existence of cost. So labor economics is a discipline which studies the effective use of labor resources under the established objectives. It studies the operation and the results of the labor market that is the interaction between labor supply and demand.
This course is a specialized course of human resources. After the studying this course, the students should master the basic theory of economics, analyze mechanisms and principles of the use and development of special labor resources so that they can use quantitative or qualitative methods to analyze operation mechanism of labor market, human capital investment theory, wages and employment, labor relations and other related issues from the micro and macro levels, with the empirical and normative research methods.
