Performance management is an obligatory course for human resource management major. It is a highly practical course. It mainly discusses how to appraise staff’s performance so as to promote the competitive advantages of enterprise and ensure the corporate reach the strategic goals. This course consists of four parts: Part one is a sketch of performance management, which mainly introduces concept of performance, performance appraisal and performance management; the part two introduces performance index system design, mainly about the constitution and design tactics of performance indices,and the concept of performance index system; the part three talks about strategic performance management tools around how performance index system embodies enterprise’ strategy, such as management by objective, key performance indicator, balanced score card; finally, the part four describes the performance management process, focusing on the performance management links like performance plan, performance execution, performance assessment and feedback.
