Upon completion of this program, graduates will possess basic economic and financial theories and master the basic theory, knowledge and method of modern statistics and risk management. Furthermore, they will have the ability of collecting data and processing and analyzing data by statistical software and will be able to analyze and assess the risk of investment management in the field of finance, insurance, bank and estate by Statistics and Risk Theory.

Core courses include: Mathematical Analysis, Advanced Algebra, Statistics, Probability Theory, Mathematical Statistics, Advanced Program Design, Applications of Time Series Analysis, Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Risk Management, Actuarial modeling, Application of Random Processes, Principles of Insurance, Life Insurance Actuarial studies, Statistical Forecasting and Decision-Making, Financial Mathematics, Accounting, Monetary Banking, etc.

This program provides a number of key skills for graduates wanting to work in government departments focusing on economic management, insurance companies, investment companies and other institutions. These skills include actuarial analysis, risk management and risk assessment. Graduates who want to pursue a career in government departments and focus on scientific research, education and certain other departments would benefit from the development of statistical analysis, forecasting and analysis based decision making skills provided in this program. Students will also be in a strong position to pursue a Master's degree in statistics or related disciplines.
