Nowadays, social construction and governance has been one of the most important objectives in the national development. Sociology hereby becomes a leading  specialty among universities in China. This program, in accordance with the supportive policy of GDUFE authorities, holds a leading position among universities in Guangdong for currently only four universities  in Guangdong have set up this undergraduate program. 

Based on the key disciplines of the university (Economics, Management, and Law), the program aims at training students in economic sociology, sociology of organizations and law, as well as familiarizing themselves with required knowledge such as sociology theories and social survey skills. Meanwhile, it features a link of Sociology and Journalism, thereby enhancing the development of Sociology of Communication in School of Humanities and Communication. 

The program also emphasizes a link of theory studies, application and social practices, providing students with a humanistic and holistic education that enables them to think globally and innovatively and make practical use of their professional knowledge and skills for modern social and economic development. 

Gradutes have been well welcomed by industry and the society in general, including education departments, research institutes, government offices, enterprises, public institutions, and social organizations. 

Basic Courses:An Introduction to Sociology, An Introduction to Social Work, Social Research Method, Western Sociological Theories, Anthropology, Introductory to Social Security, History of Western Social Thought, History of Social Theories in China, Contemporary Social Welfare Thoughts.

Specialized Courses: Program Introduction , Sociology Literature Retrieval, Qualitative Research Method, Quantitative Research Method, SPSS Statistics and Measures Application, Urban Sociology, Rural Sociology, Historical Sociology , Social Stratification and Mobility, Economic Sociology, Sociology of Development, Contemporary Social Problems, Sociology of Family, An Introduction to Psychology.
