Social Work is the characteristic key construciton program of Guangdong higher education institutions, the pilot program of “Guangdong specialty comprehensive reform”, and is in the first batch of Social Work undergraduate programs in Guangdong.
The objective of Social Work in Guangdong University of Finance and Economics is to develop students morally, intellectually, physically, and aesthetically, who systematically master the basic theories and skills, develop high-level professionals of application-type for social work teaching and research, social surveys planning, policy analysis and assessment, social work and management, and social counseling.
The program currently is cooperating with overseas academic institutes to enhance student exchanges for overseas internship and study and faculty exchange in teaching and joint research projects.
Its characteristics also lie in the integration of social practice, research and planning proficiency, and professional social services. At present, social construction and governance has been one of the most important objectives in the national development in China. The cultivation of Social Work professionals hence meets the needs of social and economic development in China, especially in Guangdong province . Graduates are well welcomed by industry and society including education departments, research institutes, government offices, enterprises , public institutions, and social organizations.
