Research on Industrial Economy of Tourism belongs to the applied economics, industrial economics (or departmental economics) disciplines, and is also an emerging interdisciplinary, and cross-disciplinary course, it is a specialized basic course for tourism management postgraduates. By learning this course, students get to know the tourism industry economic research foundation, understand laws governing the operation of the tourism industry, get familiar with operation specifications of the tourism industry, master methods of cutting-edge theories and practices research in the area of tourism industrial economy, enhance the ability to recognize economic characteristics of the tourism phenomenon, grasp the policy of the tourism industry, and lay the foundation of knowledge and ability for other specialized courses in tourism management and the management of tourism enterprises and tourism destinations. |

This course is taught in a thematic form, divided into seven topics. The first feature is the basis of economic analysis of tourism industry. It includes the development and evolution of tourism industry, the nature of tourism industry, the development history of domestic and international tourism industry and the basic concepts of tourism economy. The second feature is the tourism industry and regional structure. Including the structure of tourism industry, tourism industry associations and regional structure of the tourism industry. The third feature is the integration of tourism industry. Fourth is tourism industry agglomeration. Fifth is the tourism industry organization structure. Including analysis of the organizational structure of the tourism industry, the behavior of tourism enterprises and the price competition by using the theory of industrial organization. Sixth is the tourism industry policy and development model. The seventh one is the development strategy of tourism industry. |
