Guangdong University of Finance and Economics Set up the First Goethe’s Language Center of South China

South China's first Goethe Institute in Guangdong University of Finance and Economics is set up, Guangzhou citizens don’t have to go to other cities if they want to get a German language certificate. Yesterday, the Guangdong University of Finance and Economics and the Goethe-institute (China) started  planning  to launch the Goethe language center of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics,  to provide a way for German learners to train and pass the German rank test in south China.

The vice principal Du Chengming said Goethe’s language center has an incomparable authority compared with other institutions in terms of German training and examination, but China is now only  having 7 Goethe language centers in Shanghai, Tianjin, Nanjing and other cities. He said: Southern China lacked of a leading German training institution before, training institutions were not the examination site of German exam. So the students often went to Hong Kong or Beijing Goethe language center to take an examination, but this  situation will change now.”

It is reported that the center will adopt small-class teaching mode and  each class will comprise of around 20 people. The training is expected to begin between April and May next year. Social activists and members of German foundations  are not eligible for registration. Because the center is non-profit , charge is far lower than for the same language training class. What is more, the time of intensive training class is about two months, which means there will be nearly 200 classes, and the class fee standards at 5000 yuan .
