About Scientific Research of GDUFE

Staying true to the principle of “truth pursuit” and “attaining practical use”, our University constantly improves its scientific research level. We boast two key provincial research bases of  Humanities and Social Sciences (the National Economy Research Center, and The Institute of Rule of Law and Economic Development), one key municipal research center for Humanities and Social Sciences (the Research center of Guangzhou Modern Logistics and E-commerce), one provincial collaborative innovation platform (the Pearl River Delta Collaborative Innovation Development Center for Scientific and Financial Industries), and one provincial research center for policy consulting (the GDUFE Innovative Research Center of Open Economy). The past five years witnessed 82 national-level projects and 376 provincial-level projects as well as 1767 papers published in authoritative and core journals like Social Sciences in China, Science China, Economic Research Journal, Management World and Chinese Journal of Law. 319 of these papers were included in SCI, EI and ISTP. 294 books on various topics were published, including 170 academic monographs. We have been listed in the top one hundred CSSCI sources and ranked 10th among all universities of finance and economics in the Nation and the 6th among all universities in the Guangdong Province. Journal of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics is a source journal of CSSCI, and a core journal of various subjects. 

Community Service

Our University seeks support through service and pursues development through contribution. Based on demands, we conduct scientific researches and provide consultative services on the burning issues of the economy and society. A batch of professors has been appointed as management consultants and financial advisors for the provincial government and the Provincial NPC Committee. 

Our university has established long-term cooperative relations with the government. We built the Collaborative Innovation Center of Guangzhou Modern Logistics and E-commerce together with the Guangzhou Federation of Social Sciences, the Guangdong Taxation Research Center along with IRS and the local tax bureau, and the GDUFE Zhengda Micro-Finance Collaborative Innovation Center with Shanghai Zhengda Cooperation—the first one to focus on micro-financial industries in China. Other cooperation’s include the first National Further Education Center for Tax Cadres in cooperation with the Guangzhou Local Tax Bureau, Guangdong Collaborative Innovation Center of Local Tourist Industry Development with The Guangdong Tourism Development Research Center, and a research-practice base of Guangdong Welfare Lottery with CWLC.
