(2) A Brief Introduction to the Course

Fundamentals of Digital Animation is lectured by means of multimedia teaching, film observation and analysis, and a large number of experimental practices with the hope that students are able to understand the situation of digital animation, cultivate animation thinking, independently complete digital animation short films with the use of software exercises and tools. This course uses Adobe Photoshop and Adobe animate as the main practice tools. Students are required to use PS to draw original paintings and comic design, and use animate to complete two-dimensional animation exercises. The course is mainly divided into three modules. The first module is the practice of digital painting techniques, which enables students to learn how to use the tablet and PS to complete the original painting design and storyboard creation. With characters, animals, plants, and objects as the subject of exercises, the second module is the animate-based two-dimensional animation exercises that enable students to master the laws of motion of different objects. The third module is the creation of animated short films, in which students can learn the creation of animated scripts, the drawing of scenes, roles and background design, output synthesis and other methods to achieve the completion of a final animated short film.
